Local Crete visitor news, info and ads. Agia Galini sits on the south coast of the Greek island of Crete, in the Rethymno prefecture. With steep hillsides coming down to meet the sea, much of the village is built in a valley rising up from the harbour, in tiers of buildings and steps that give the area a distinct 'picture postcard' appeal, or hugging the cliffs and providing stunning views to the sea from on high. There is a sizeable and well maintained beach and no shortage of cafes, restaurants and shops to entice the visitor.
